Carmona Bonsai, also called Fukien tea, is an evergreen plant native to China. It is characterized by twisted branches, a gray-brown bark and small, oval, rough, glossy and bright green sessile leaves. In the warm seasons it produces small white flowers and round green fruits at the time of development, but which, once ripe, turn red-purple.
Currently the plant is used in the Philippines to make a substitute tea drink from its leaves.
TREATMENT: The Bonsai Carmona prefers a temperate climate and a location in a well-lit and sunny place, away from heat sources and drafts. During the colder seasons it is good to place it in the apartment and place it less than a meter from the window, maintaining a temperature between 15 ° C and 25 ° C, while in the warmer seasons it is possible to place it also externally, taking care to put it in the penumbra .
This plant should be watered regularly, making sure the soil is dry and taking care to avoid water stagnation. If in the summer season you decide to place it outside, it is preferable to water it every day; in the intermediate seasons 1-2 waterings a week are sufficient, while the winter one every 15 days.
EXPOSURE: Indoor / bright in cold seasons; outside / half-light in hot seasons.
