A rhizomatous plant belonging to the Araceae family, it is very common as a houseplant . It is long-lived, very hardy, and easy to grow : it adapts to different light and humidity levels. It produces distinctive inflorescences consisting of a long white spathe, curled around a panicle of white flowers . The flowers last for several weeks, turning green before wilting completely. To maintain a healthy, lush plant, it is advisable to remove damaged leaves and faded flowers . Spathiphyllum is a houseplant characterized by long, generally lanceolate leaves. If grown in the right conditions, it produces white "modified" leaves, called spathes.

CARE: Water regularly year-round, allowing the soil to dry slightly between waterings. Generally, a mature plant with average temperatures of 20°C requires 2-3 waterings per week. Spathiphyllums prefer rich, soft soil that can retain some moisture: ideally, a drainage layer of materials such as glass beads or expanded clay is placed at the bottom of the container.
