Pellaea Rotundifolia Scientific name, common or vulgar name: Button fern
it is part of the family of the Polipodiaceae (Polypodiaceae), Native to: Australia and New Zealand.
Pellaea Rotundifolia is a lively fern with rhizome, dark green color, with shiny and rounded blades; its fronds do not exceed 30 cm. The sori are marginal and rounded.
Longevity: 2 to 5 years at home.
How to grow Pellaea
Light: A lighted place will be excellent, but will tolerate a shady one. Tolerates the sun as long as the soil is not lacking in moisture. In summer, keep it out of direct sunlight.
Ambient Humidity: Place the pot on a layer of moist gravel, which is much better to prevent the roots from cooking in the sun.
It prefers moist substrates with an acidic pH, although it does not need an acidic and moist soil like that required by almost all ferns.
Watering: Keep this fern in humid conditions but being careful not to drown them. In winter, do not water more than once a week.
Fertilization: In spring and summer, add a compost for green plants diluted to the third part every 10 days.
Pruning: With scissors, regularly trim the dried fronds.
Multiplication: by division of tufts or pieces of rhizome in spring.
