Asparagine or Asparagus Setaceus is a plant native to South Africa, used as an indoor plant for its pleasant and graceful leaves but it is also often present in the compositions of florists' bouquets to make the bouquet of flowers richer and more voluminous.

The plant grows well in environments between 10 and 25 ° C

Moisture of the earth: soil not very humid but the earth must never dry out completely, you have to be careful of stagnant water.

Soil: peat-based soil also combined with sand is excellent, especially to avoid stagnation at the roots.

Flowering: It blooms discreetly leading eventually to the production of small green berries.

CARE: it needs good air circulation, it seems you can't stand stale air. Perfect in a hanging basket but also in a pot if you offer it a support to climb and maintain a vertical posture.

PARTICULARITY: When the plant is mature it develops small green thorns on its stems that allow it to be a climber in nature and thus reach considerable heights up to 3 meters.

FUN FACT: the description setaceus given by the German botanist Kunth comes from the Latin saeta and means bristle, horsehair or hair. However, it is also called Piumosa probably due to its lightness typical of a feather.
