Armando and Teodoro's Easter – A true story from our garden
In our daily work with plants, animals and nature, we occasionally witness something extraordinary. This is the case of Armando and Teodoro, the protagonists of this story.
Armando is our oldest rooster. Strong, elegant and attentive. Some time ago, with great regret, we lost his partner, the hen who had just given birth to little Teodoro. He was still too young to fend for himself.
Yet something happened that we never expected: Armando chose to become a hen. Yes, that's right. He spread his wings, literally, and for weeks he welcomed little Teodoro under him, protecting and warming him. A rare gesture, which does not belong to the typical behavior of roosters, but which was guided by a greater instinct: that of love.
Since then, Armando and Teodoro have been inseparable. They respect each other, greet each other in the morning with small ritual gestures (a dance with open legs and wings), and sometimes symbolically clean each other's feathers. A small affectionate language, which every day reminds us how nature is capable of surprising and moving us.
This Easter, among eggs, chicks and blooming flowers, we wanted to share this true story with you. Because even in our gardens, sometimes, stories are born that deserve to be told.

Jag blev väldigt berörd av berättelsen om Armando och Teodoro. Så vackert att läsa om ett starkt band mellan far och son, där instinkten till omsorg går före allt. Att en tupp tar rollen som hönsmamma är ovanligt, men samtidigt så naturligt kärlek hittar alltid sin väg. Teodoros fjädrar är fantastiska, med sin skimrande blandning av rött och svart. Complimenti per questa bellissima storia, letta tutta d’un fiato. Ho una piccola passione per le razze avicole ornamentali, e vedere un Ayam Cemani così fiero accanto a un giovane ibrido Cemani x Moroseta con quel piumaggio rosso-nero cangiante… è davvero uno spettacolo per gli occhi. Ma la cosa più bella è il legame tra loro: si percepisce rispetto, affetto, continuità. Una scena che racconta molto di più di quanto sembri.
