CURATIVE PLANTS: USE'S INSTRUCTIONS

When we talk about healing or medicinal plants, we refer to all those plants and herbs that over the centuries have been used by man to treat diseases, fever and viruses of various kinds.

The WHO, World Health Organization, defines "medicinal" plants as those that contain in one or more organs, substances that can be used for therapeutic or preventive purposes, from which pharmacologically active preparations derive.

 

Here are ten medicinal plants allied to our health that can make us feel good without weighing down the body.

Laurel: beneficial antiseptic, protective, antioxidant, digestive and anticancer properties. It is recommended in case of poor digestion, to stimulate the immune system, to keep blood pressure under control, in case of stomach pain, headache, tiredness.

Aloe vera: beneficial anti-inflammatory, antirheumatic, antispasmodic and analgesic properties. It is recommended in case of rheumatological diseases such as arthrosis, tendinitis and back pain, headache.

Valerian: it is one of the most known and used medicinal plants thanks to its tranquilizing properties. Valerian is used to combat insomnia and sleep disturbances, but also other anxiety disorders such as anguish, panic attacks and palpitations.

Rosa canina: rich in vitamin C and has multiple therapeutic properties useful for fighting infections. Its flowers and leaves are mainly used to produce and prepare herbal teas and infusions.

Arnica: this yellow-flowered plant is used in herbal medicine and herbal medicine as a gel and tincture with anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and antineuralgic action. The ointment in particular is used for sprains, edemas, phlebitis and also as a remedy against acne and insect bites to get immediate relief by doing without anti-inflammatory and pain relievers.

Eucalyptus: the leaves of this widespread tree are used as an infusion to treat bronchial phlegm, asthma, flu and colds. The essential oil that is extracted and used as an anti-catarrhal for its balsamic and expectorant qualities and can also be found in many air fresheners for its pleasant scent.

Blueberry: The small fruits of the blueberry plant are widely used in cases of capillary fragility, vascular problems and venous insufficiency due to their high content of vitamins A, B, C and flavonoids. Cranberry juice is also often used to help eyesight and protect the eye capillaries.

Calendula: it is used externally to treat burns and scalds in fact it is contained in many dermatological products for its anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, refreshing and emollient properties.

Lavender: beneficial sedative, antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral properties. It is recommended in case of disorders of the gastrointestinal system and to control spasmodic manifestations of the respiratory tract.

Devil's claw: it is a climbing plant with beneficial anti-inflammatory, antirheumatic, antispasmodic and analgesic properties. It is recommended in case of rheumatological diseases such as arthrosis, tendinitis and back pain, headache, generalized pain.
