AT FERRAGOSTO COLLECT YOUR FRUITS

AT FERRAGOSTO COLLECT YOUR FRUITS

The name of the Ferragosto festival derives from the Latin Feriae Augusti - rest of Augustus, in honor of Octavian Augustus, the first Roman emperor, from whom it took its name this month.

Even then it was a moment of rest and celebrations set up precisely by the emperor himself who went back to the feast dedicated to Conso the God of the earth and fertility that celebrated the end of agricultural work. Mid-August is therefore a relaxing party, where you rest and thank nature for its gifts as well as celebrate its fruitfulness.

Today in the unstoppable rush of city life we have forgotten the agricultural and seasonal rhythms, in August the plants stop and slow down their growth in their ancient wisdom.

Celebrating this day can be the best way to regain contact with mother nature and with what it gives us thanks to our inseparable plant friends. For all lovers of green plant creatures then the wish we can do is to stop, rest and reap the benefits of a year's work.

Happy Ferragosto from GardenStuff!
